Welcome to the Olde Coloma Theatre's web site

Olde Coloma Theatre is alive and well.  Come and see your new shows.

Our website is being rebuilt.

Coloma Crescent Players, Inc (Olde Coloma Theatre) is a non-profit organization.  Our primary purposes are:

  • to promote and encourage amateur performing arts in a traditional melodrama form in a community, family theatre atmosphere.
  • to present other theatre art forms,
  • to encouragement of new talent in all aspects of the theatre arts,
  • to participate in community affairs, and
  • to provide for and maintain Olde Coloma Theatre.

Olde Coloma Theatre presents our Gold Discovery History Program.  It is an interactive melodrama format of the "Gold Discovery" events and people in California's history. This production is designed for grade schools learning about the California Gold Discovery in 1849.  Come learn in a fun way about John Sutter, James Marshall, and Sam Brannon.  See more information by clicking "School Plays" at the left.

Our evening performances are usually written, produced, directed and performed all by local talent.  See our 2007 schedule by clicking Plays & Productions" at the left.

If you or someone you know is interested in voluntering let us know either by calling 530-626-5282 or emailing info@oldecolomatheatre.com.  We are always looking for new members to add to our family for cast and crew on productions, advertising, cleanup, parking attendants, costume designers/makers, technical staff, and many more!  We welcome any ideas for fundraisers or ways to help make our theatre better than it already is.

Please read our letter to the Schools and Tour Companies that have enjoyed our "Gold Discovery" Historic Melodrama over the years. This letter addresses our parking dilemma and suggests ways you can help us resolve it. It can be found on the "School Play" page. Thank you
